Overview

This is Part 1 in a Sitecore 9 - Multi Server Installation series that will go through the steps on how to install Sitecore 9 in a multi-server environment. Sitecore 9 installation is a process that is quite different than what it used to be prior to version 9. Official Sitecore documentation and internet are full of articles on how to setup Sitecore 9 on a single server but I've found that there are very few articles talking about how to install Sitecore 9 if you have more than 1 server. I hope this series will help out someone.

This series will cover the following:

2. Dedicated Solr server setup
3. Dedicated SQL server setup
4. Dedicated Web server setup

Servers

This series will use custom scripts and packages for XP Single (XP0) Instance configuration. Future series on same topic will use packages for XP Scaled (XP1) roles and go through setting up each individual role on enterprise level multi server Sitecore 9 installation.

Scripts

All scripts used in this series are available in the GitHub repository. You will have to download Sitecore 9 packages from Sitecore Experience Platform 9.0 Update-1 page.
